In the 1861 census William Smallman is the victualler of the Angel Inn, High Street, this is the last time I have found the name Angel for this pub.
By 1863 William Smallman had changed the name of the pub to the Talbot inn, he is still there in the 1871 census, but by 1880 John Fisher had taken over the pub, he was the publican until his death on the 13th Nov 1903, his widow tuck over the license and ran the Talbot until 1906, when Frederick George Downes became the publican, in the 1911 census Richard Picken was the Licensed Victualler.
By 1934 George Harold Wright had taken over the pub, but by 1941 Robert Graham was there, he also was landlord of the White Horse Heath Hill, he died on the 10th April 1968.
